Answer Forbes reveals the richest people in cryptocurrency

Forbes released the latest list of the 400 richest people in the world for the year 2018 last week, and the fortune of the founder of Ripple (XRP) “Chris Larsen” was estimated at $ 2.1 billion, and this is the first joining of that list for both “Chris Larsen” and “Drew Houston” CEO of Dropbox.

“Chris Larsen”

Having earned $78.5 billion in one year, Jeff Bezos, who has a total fortune of $160 million, beat Bill Gates. Gates has previously held a major (first) position on this list for 24 years.

The rich are getting richer

And it seems the rich are getting richer, making the individual lists need a net worth of at least $2.1 billion, the highest income ever. The average net worth of list members also rose by half a billion to $7.2 billion, its highest level ever.

According to a Credit Suisse report published earlier in 2018, the world’s 100 richest people now own more than half of the global wealth, and that proportion is likely to rise to two-thirds of global wealth by 2030.

Larsen is said to own about 5.19 billion units (XRP) in addition to his partnership in shares of XRP affiliates. In January, Forbes estimated the net worth of Chris Larsen’s stock at $37.3 billion.

At the time, XRP was worth $2.39, but now XRP is worth $0.47 which has brought Larsen’s stock down to $2.1 billion today.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse had a fortune estimated at $9.5 billion in January thanks to the rise in the price of Ripple (XRP). But due to the volatility of XRP and developments in the cryptocurrency markets, his net worth has fallen below the minimum necessary to be on Forbes’ list of the world’s 400 richest people.

Ripple may still increase the fortunes of Larsen and Garlinghouse after the XRP price surged in the past weeks, as well as other investors with significant investments in Ripple XRP. It is possible that the news of the launch of the new Ripple product XRapid, which represents an international payments system based on blockchain technology, may affect the price of the XRP currency positively.

However, the actual launch did not preserve the value of Ripple XRP, as its price fell to the current value. It is believed that the widespread adoption of xRapid, the first such payment system to use a cryptocurrency to transact, could be a boon to both Ripple and its official currency, XRP.

Forbes magazine published its 2018 crypto-rich list in February of this year which has not yet been updated given the recent market downturn. That list placed Chris Larsen as the richest cryptocurrency, followed by Joseph Lubin, co-founder of the Ethereum network and founder of ConsenSys, and in third place is Changpeng Zhao, CEO of Binance.
