A Pew Research survey shows that 46% of those Americans who have been involved in cryptocurrency are dissatisfied with their investment.
Only 16% of investors said their cryptocurrency has performed better than expected.
Nearly a third of US cryptocurrency investors responded that their returns were the same as expected.
While the survey showed that 88% of Americans are familiar with cryptocurrencies.
Meanwhile, only 16% have invested in cryptocurrencies so far.
The vast majority of investors cite the possibilities of making money as the main reason behind their decision to dip their toes in digital assets.
Not surprisingly, men between the ages of 18 and 29 are the most interested and friendly group in cryptocurrency, with 42% trying their luck on crypto.
According to the survey, only 7% of those over 50 have invested in cryptocurrencies.
