Popular Decentralized Finance (DeFi) protocol Curve Finance is seeking a grant of 1 million OP coins from the Ethereum second layer Crypto Optimism project.

Presented by “Curve Finance” suggestion The scholarship is posted on the “Optimism” forum on Sunday (24 July 2022).

The 1 million OP coins will provide incentives to Liquidity Providers (LP) who provide liquidity in Curve pools on Optimism.

According to the proposal, 1 million OP will be distributed as rewards to eligible gatherings over a period of 20 weeks.

There are currently three eligible “Optimism” pools on Curve which are:

sUSD, sETH and sBTC.

These pools, as well as other groups that become eligible, will participate in a bonus distribution of OP 50,000 on a weekly basis.

The proposal stated that the grant would help attract more liquidity to Curve’s pools on “Optimism” which could also contribute to the development of the DeFi ecosystem.

Currently, Curve’s total closed value is $5.94 billion across 10 blockchains, while Optimism’s closed value is $17.47 million.

Optimism announced the launch of a governance system called Optimism Collective, along with the OP governance code, in April 2022.
