Answer AMC CEO: The NFT token “Spider-Man” caused the second largest sales in the company’s history

AMC Theaters, the largest movie theater chain in the United States, recently offered 86,000 non-fungible tokens to early buyers of the latest “Spider-Man” movie.

Enthusiasm among fans was so high that it led to the second highest single-day ticket sales in the entire history of AMC.

AMC Corporation and NFT Presentation:

Earlier this week, the movie theater chain partnered with Sony to offer 86,000 NFT to reward members and individual investors who pre-ordered tickets for the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” premiere, which will be shown on December 16.

AMC has released non-fungible tokens in 100 different designs as owners will receive information on how to redeem their holdings on December 22.

The company specified that the NFT should be replaced by the beginning of March next year.

AMC confirmed that digital groups are “environmentally friendly” because they are built on the WAX blockchain, and added:

Spider-Man NFT will be available to be replaced at a dedicated site operated by WAX, which will have an ultra-low carbon footprint and the first certified carbon neutral.

Adam Aaron, the man in charge of AMC, predicted that digital holdings would take off more quickly in the future.

A few days after the promotion began, Aaron tweeted that all 86,000 NFTs were fully booked by Monday noon.

The CEO admitted that the show created a huge rush to buy tickets for the premiere, which resulted in the second-largest single-day ticket sales in AMC’s history.

The record still belongs to “Avengers: Endgame” in 2019, beating “Spider-Man: No Way Home” by just 1.5%.

Regardless of diving into the world of NFT, AMC is a staunch advocate of cryptocurrency.

This summer, the company accepted bitcoin for online ticket purchases and franchise payments.

A few weeks later, it doubled down on its crypto efforts and added other currencies such as Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash.

Soon after, the movie theater chain got involved in “memecoin” as well, added Dogecoin and conducted a survey to determine if the company should accept “Shiba Inu.”

The results were in favor of SHIB, and Aaron announced that the currency would be added at the beginning of 2022.
