Answer AnubisDAO investors lose $60 million after fraudsters withdraw money from the liquidity pool

According to some of the affected investors, the newly launched “AnubisDAO” project defrauded the investors of about $60 million in Ethereum after they collected the funds, and then withdrew it from the project’s liquidity pool.

The AnubisDAO project described itself as a split from OlympusDAO, which offers a decentralized reserve currency backed by bond sales and fees for liquidity providers.

When the project was launched, the AnubisDAO team launched the Discord group and Twitter account, but they are now inactive.

Although the project does not have a website, investors poured $60 million into an initial sale featuring ANKH coins.

Twenty hours after the initial sale, the cash was sent to a different address pool.

One investor, Brian Nguyen, told CNBC that he lost $470,000.

He admitted that what attracted him the most to the project was the images of dogs used in the marketing process, as similar currencies had previously succeeded prominently, such as: “Dogecoin” and “Shiba Inu”.

Last Friday, in a now-deleted tweet, an AnubisDAO investor named @0xSisyphus offered a prize of 1,000 ETH to anyone who could identify the person controlling the address that drained the pool.

According to the available data, it is not known who withdrew the funds from the complex, after accusations were exchanged between the team members.

Today, “@cryptofan777” tweeted:

I am cooperating with the police and complying with all investigations for the time being.

The account “@cryptofan777” also responded to rumors that it deceived user “0xSisyphus” for twelve hours after the funds disappeared by providing screenshots of a live chat with “0xSisyphus”, which allegedly proves that he did not deceive the investor, and never volunteered to deal with his money.

The bottom line:

The $60 million AnubisDAO project has disappeared, and the project’s Twitter account is currently under investigation by police.
